The other day I was dropping off an order to one of my stores and the owner had on this Fab-O necklace. I was seriously drooling.
The other day I was dropping off an order to one of my stores and the owner had on this Fab-O necklace. I was seriously drooling.
It was a hand-stamped sterling silver little number. It had her name and her hubs along with their anniversary date. Too cute. I so wanted one, but didn't want to shell out the $60 for it. So what do you do? Well you make your own version, right?
Off to the Hob Lob I went. Needed some metal stamping tools.
Used my 40% coupon on two trips to get two sets of metal stamps. So in love. Made me that necklace and then I needed some more stamped metal.
I came up with this.
I had a super time getting pictures of the stamped charms. The light kept reflecting off the metal.
You Need:
bracelet
charms
jump rings
metal discs
metal stamps
When I was buying supplies I found it to be cheaper to buy the chain in the package and then packages of clasps. That way I could make multiple bracelets in whatever sizes. The sister already wants one for herself with her name on it.
I also bought several packages of metal shapes. Practice, practice, practice. Also work your way from the middle of your word out. Like in sunshine, I place the H to far over and then started running out of room on my disc. Place your middle letters as close to the middle and then work half of the word. Finish the other half of the word.
My discs have my kids names, my hubs initials, my initials, our anniversary date, and you are MY sunshine. All of the beads are from broken jewelry that I saved. I just used the metal pins and created loops at the top. Attached a jump ring or link and called it good.
My sweet angel babies. When I attached my charms and beads I used every other link on my bracelet. I wanted every thing to lay nice and flat. My OCD at work.
A sweet little bird I was saving for something special. When I was creating my bead charms I used a small silver bead first since the big bead slipped off the metal pin. The head was to small. It adds a little something extra I think.
My anniversary date. I wanted it to have a dog tag feel. We just celebrated 10 years and my bracelet is the perfect tribute of the many things that have happened over the last 10 years.
